Chronic Issues

The Rolf Method was created by Dr Ida P Rolf PhD. It is said that Dr Rolf asked a neighbor if she could teach her children how to play piano. The old piano teacher's hands were damaged by chronic pain and stiffness, so the lady had to decline. Dr Rolf made her a deal: she would help the pianist regain the function of her hands and in exchange, her kids would get a piano teacher. So the kids learned the piano.

Making Healthy Bodies Better

Structure and function are important for daily tasks and a requirement for elite or extreme athletes as well. The 10 Series shows remarkable improvement by freeing up movement and restoring access to balance and power.

Personal Evolution / Validation

Structural Integration oddly has an esoteric aspect to it. As the fascia changes the physical body, the body heals itself and experiences new awareness and proprioception. The idea that the body keeps the score plays into the emotional intelligence and memory stored in the tissue of the human being. Some clients simply want an experience to find themselves on a deeper level. Often the 10 Series will accomplish that goal.


The science will catch up to the experience one day. But for now, just know its pretty normal to seek Structural Integration for self-development. 



Athletic Performance / Body Alignment

The premise of Structural Integration is to get the fascia of your body balanced so that your joints regain proper alignment and thus proper function. The vertical and horizontal axis are literal guidelines. Flexion and extension of body parts must be balanced and flowing. Torsions and adhesions need to be freed up to allow proper tissue glide along the bones and across the joints.


Here are some alignment issues that get worked with:


Foot & Ankle

- flat feet, pronation, supination, stiffness, plantar fasciitis and lost range of motion


Knee & Hip

- Q angle, varus, valgus, hyper extension, pain, restriction, weakness, leg length concerns, nerve pain, overuse injuries and ROM 


Shoulder & Elbows

- overuse injuries, ROM, nerve pain, weakness, rotational imbalance, tennis elbow


Wrist & Hands

- torsion, tension, carpal tunnel, joint immobility


Pelvis, Spine & Cranium

-  torsions, anterior/posterior tilt, flat back, swayback, kyphosis, lordosis, balancing the 3 axis of the head


We aim to balance the fascial tension across the pelvis and shoulder girdle allow them to regain functional symmetry. We educate the feet, knees, and pelvis to sit, stand and walk with flow and efficiency. We work with the spine and cranium to create a pillar of support for the arms and the eyes and this tends to deeply influence the efficiency of the nervous system.


This makes walking, running, jumping and managing obstacles much easier as well as helps the body switch into rest and recovery much faster.
